STATEMENT
I am most interested in looking for subtle details and moods of my portrait subjects – some small feature, a piece of clothing, facial gestures. I love my subjects and their situations, catching them in a particular moment in time. Where has this person been? Where are they now?
I am intrigued by workaday projects, and I seek to have my paintings tell a story to the viewer, to examine and react to everyday activities that we may take for granted. I hope that my viewers will see into what is happening in the narrative of work.
I enjoy painting animal friends in their surroundings, depicting their personalities and the work they do as well. Paintings of natural settings depict cool waterfalls, rushing rapids and familiar farming communities.
